Clinical standards and evidence sources
The bodies below set authoritative UK guidance and standards that inform how The Nelford Clinic prepares clinical content. None of them regulate, approve or endorse The Nelford Clinic as a business, and referencing their guidance is not a claim of accreditation by them.
How clinical content is prepared
Patient-facing clinical content is prepared by Abel Getachew, UK-registered clinician (GPhC 2217107), drawing on authoritative UK sources, and is intended to be reviewed periodically as guidance changes. Each condition page links its specific sources directly, rather than listing every regulator on every page regardless of relevance.
NICE guidance
The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) publishes evidence-based guidance for health and care in England. Where relevant to a specific condition, our clinical content is reviewed against current NICE guidance. NICE is a guidance body, not a regulator of The Nelford Clinic, and does not approve or endorse this service.
MHRA medicines safety
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) regulates the safety of medicines and medical devices in the UK. Medicines-safety information published on this site is reviewed against current MHRA safety communications where relevant, and suspected side effects can be reported through the MHRA’s Yellow Card Scheme - see Patient safety.
Prescribing governance
Our prescribing governance references recognised professional frameworks, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s Competency Framework for All Prescribers where relevant, alongside the clinician’s own GPhC professional standards and obligations.
Advertising and medicines-information standards
Public-facing healthcare and medicine content on this site is reviewed against applicable UK advertising and medicines-information requirements, including the standards set by the Advertising Standards Authority and the Committee of Advertising Practice (ASA/CAP). This site does not promote prescription-only medicines by name, guarantee treatment outcomes, use misleading price comparisons, or create false urgency.
