Patient safety
The Nelford Clinic is not an emergency or urgent-care service. This page explains where to get the right kind of help, quickly.
Urgent: Medical emergency
Caution: Urgent, but not life-threatening
Routine Nelford support
For non-urgent questions about a consultation you’ve already started, contact the clinic directly using the details on your consultation. For general administrative questions, use Contact - not for anything urgent or clinical.
Medicine safety
If you think you’ve had a side effect
Read the patient information leaflet supplied with the medicine. If you are worried about your health, speak to a pharmacist, your GP or NHS 111. Anyone can report a suspected side effect through the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency’s (MHRA) Yellow Card Scheme; the reporting service itself does not provide medical advice. Medicines-safety information on this site is reviewed against current MHRA safety communications where relevant - see Clinical standards and governance.
If you’re not sure a medicine is right for you
Don’t start, stop or change a prescribed medicine without speaking to a clinician or pharmacist first. If something changes about your health after an assessment, contact the clinic using the details on your consultation rather than assuming the original decision still applies.
Safeguarding and support
If you or someone else is at immediate risk of harm, call 999. If you need someone to talk to, you can call Samaritans free on 116 123, day or night. If a safeguarding concern arises during a consultation, your clinician will discuss appropriate next steps with you and, where necessary, involve other services on your behalf.
