Self-employed prescribing clinicians

Nelford works with self-employed, UK-registered prescribing clinicians who meet the regulatory and professional requirements relevant to their profession and scope of practice. Clinicians are selected for their prescribing qualifications, relevant clinical experience and evidence of safe, patient-centred practice. They work within Nelford’s clinical governance, prescribing, safeguarding and medicines-optimisation standards.

    Each clinician is registered with the UK regulator for their profession and holds the prescribing qualification relevant to their role.

  • Relevant clinical experience

    Clinicians are selected for relevant clinical experience and evidence of safe, patient-centred practice.

  • Working within Nelford's standards

    They follow Nelford's clinical governance, prescribing, safeguarding and medicines-optimisation standards, and work only within their own scope of practice.

Checking a clinician’s registration

Professional registration is published factually so you can check it yourself. Pharmacist clinicians can be found on the General Pharmaceutical Council’s public register; other professions are listed by their own UK regulator.

The GPhC regulates individual pharmacy professionals, so each pharmacist’s registration can be checked on its register using their name or registration number.
