The main symptom is intense itching, worse at night, along with a rash and sometimes visible burrow tracks, often between fingers, on wrists or around the waist.

Treatment approach
Where appropriate, treatment usually involves a topical cream applied to the whole body, plus advice on treating close contacts and washing bedding/clothing to prevent reinfection.
